- How did you react when you found out about your promotion?
I felt very grateful. I have been working hard to get to this level.
- Who is the one person that you couldn’t wait to share the news with?
My wife. She is always encouraging me and supporting me in all my goals.
- What do you enjoy most about your new title or responsibilities?
What I enjoy most is being a part of success stories. I like being there from start to end in the talent acquisition process. Always looking for the best people and being a part of this process is a blessing. I am happy and motivated after hearing people’s positive reaction when they have been notified about a new job.
- How do you feel this promotion will affect your work relationships?
It will affect my work relationships positively for sure. We have the power to transform our environment causing a chain reaction. Recognition motivates others to grow and get to the next level.
- If you could be Batman or Robin, which one would you be and why?
I think both characters complement each other in a specific stage of growth. To be a successful Batman, you need Robin’s help to get there.
- What’s a piece of advice you’d like to offer to our new hires that could help them grow and advance within Sutherland?
You have a great field for planting. Working on excellence always produces good harvests. No matter the time or space do and give the best of you. This will never change.
- What three accomplishments are you most proud of since your start with Sutherland? Big or small, every accomplishment counts!
1st When I was a consultant working in sales, I was the top performer and was promoted for Team Manager, and then later, I was promoted to a Recruitment Specialist.
2nd When I was a Recruiting Specialist, I really had impressive numbers on the Recruiting Team. I also completed the Platinum Coach Certification.
3rd I became a part of the Top 10% of Sutherland Employees based on my annual review ratings.
- Who at Sutherland has made the biggest impact on your career and why?
Many people have influenced my career in a positive way including – Carlos Ayala – Manager – GL SD, Service Delivery, Gilberto Benavides – HR. Sr. Director. Marci Roy – Director Talent Acquisition influenced my career in a very significant way. She took the time to train me in all the procedures and tasks for my new position. She supported and guided me on a daily basis and by one on ones. She encouraged and supported me all the time. She is a great leader.
- Tell us your story. How did you join Sutherland Global?
In February 2010, the company that I worked for closed its operations. The same day I went to a staffing agency and they offered me a sales consultant position. I was later promoted for the same program for a Team Manager Position. In a few days, I had to interrupt and leave the company because I received an ED. master program scholarship to continue my studies. I came back to Sutherland in February 2012. I had to start from the bottom again as a consultant in the same program. I decided to grow further in my career and became part of leadership and support levels. I worked hard. I became the top performer of the program for 7 months in a row. After that, I applied for a recruitment specialist position.
In August 21st, 2013. Gilberto Benavides – HR Director extended me the offer for this position. I learned a lot in this new field. All the consultant-level recruiting operations showed me the importance of how Sutherland is viewed from the outside of the company. I learned the importance of hiring the best candidates for all programs at this level. I got very deeply involved in this task. Due to accomplishments while working on the Monterrey Recruitment Team, I was asked to support the recruiting process with the Colombia Team. With this opportunity, I learned how to source and recruit in other LATAM locations. I was also asked to support the LATAM Team to fill a support position and I did it successfully. In August 22nd, 2014. Marci Roy offered me a specialist position. Last year in October 8th 2015, after being ranked in the Top 10% of Sutherland Employees, I was promoted to level 2 position in LATAM. I have been very blessed in my career path at Sutherland. All my efforts and achievements have been recognized and I feel valued. I am proud to be part of this company, because the mission and vision of Sutherland is based on giving value to its employees, offering a career path of unlimited growth. Sutherland makes these offerings a daily practice. I appreciate Sutherland’s commitment to keep us moving ahead, providing all possible benefits to get better, and helping us be prepared for future endeavors. She has a diverse background in marketing and has worked with Welch Allyn Inc. and the New York Family Business Center. She is a recent graduate of Le Moyne College where she majored in Business Marketing and minored in Philosophy and Art Administration. During her time at Le Moyne, she was a sprinter and high jumper for the NCAA track and field team. Since then, she has been running in 5k races around the Central NY area. When not running, she dabbles in photography, painting, and illustrating. She also enjoys baking and cooking and uses her coworkers as taste testers.
