Sutherland Global Services offers employees countless ways to learn new skills and expand their horizons. We offer extensive employee training through our professional development courses. No matter what your field of interest is, we seek to develop your innate qualities and help you achieve your goals. Spotlighted here is one of our superstars who has utilized these opportunities to further their career at Sutherland!

  1. What has been your most memorable challenge at Sutherland?

The most memorable challenge in my career with Sutherland has to be when I was awarded for having 100% QC for six months in a row. Even though I was working over 12 hours per day, I never lost my focus and always gave 100%. It was nice getting this recognition and knowing nobody has accomplished this to date.

  1. How do you and other Leaders at Sutherland communicate the “core values”?

The best way to communicate “core values” is by setting an example. We teach our values and make our expectations clear in terms of values-based behavior. We reward our team members by publically recognizing their values and accomplishments and give prizes to the monthly winners. We communicate how the company is doing and the goals that need to be accomplished.

  1. What is one characteristic that you believe every leader should possess?

Honesty, passion, and enthusiasm.

  1. What are you doing to ensure you continue to grow and develop as a Leader?

I like to take on new responsibilities and challenge myself in successfully accomplishing new projects. I believe that leaders should step into new situations that will help develop new skills. I enjoy reading leadership forums around the world and reading books that teach about leadership skills and techniques. An excellent leader never stops learning and is receptive to everyone’s perceptions and the information that they contribute. All experiences are learning experiences.

  1. What advice would you give someone going into a leadership position for the first time?

Always remember the golden rule – treat others with the same respect and consideration that you expect to be treated with. Let your team feel that you have their back, that they can trust you, and always listen. Listen to their concerns and their opinions. Communication is the most important tool for success and you must be an active listener to be a good communicator. Appreciate and value your team members and search for ways to assist them with their professional growth as well.

  1. What are your greatest professional strengths?

I understand and value the word TEAM and, with the help of my leadership skills and knowledge, seek to continuously improve and support my team’s performance. I have excellent communication skills that allow me to work well with executives, team members, and customers. I enjoy multi-tasking, and my work ethic and organizational skills are very strong. I prefer to complete projects ahead of schedule and not to just meet deadlines. I also have outstanding customer service skills and am able to effectively understand and resolve any difficult situation or issue.
