Spotlighted here is one of our superstars who has utilized these opportunities to further their career at Sutherland!

  1. What do you like most about your new title?

In my new positon as the Sales Training Specialist, I have had the opportunity to work with not just my team, but EVERYONE on our program. What I like most about my new title is having the opportunity to show others their strengths and empower them so they will be EXCITED about what they are doing on a day to day basis rather than just DOING.

  1. What would be your personal opinion on the difference between living and existing?

I believe that living is making the choice to be happy, to find the little things that may be overlooked, and to learn as much as I can as a reminder of how much more there is out there than just what we have in front of us. It is easy to exist; just breathe and go through the motions.

  1. What changes do you feel like you can implement in your new role?

Changes that I truly feel may be implemented through my new role are unlimited. I am striving for collaborative communication and community inspiration that will initiate an open forum of best practice sharing and commitment to celebrating successes; nothing could be perceived as a failure because every action can be a lesson.

  1. What habits or daily routines help you to recharge during a work day?

It really just takes a laugh to get me recharged on a work day. We have such a great group here; some of the wittiest, intelligent and funniest people I have known. If that doesn’t cut it, a brisk walk through our lovely downtown, a cup of coffee and then some great tunes while preparing for a training class will do the trick!

  1. What do you see in your future here at Sutherland?

Sutherland is not just a job for me. It is a career. The opportunity for training and growth along with the mentors I have acquired help put the wind in my sails. I will continue to work with my department and expand to other lines of business. I can see me working nationally as well as internationally whether it be within training or business development. I am continuing my education internally as well as on my own. I see no limitations!

  1. Name one thing that you’ve had to overcome in your previous title. How did you overcome it?

One thing I had to overcome in my previous title is gaining respect for the value of my vision. It took a little time for the results to prove themselves; there were many doubts and some adversity amongst my colleagues. Yet, with perseverance and consistency, the process I believed in really began to show results, and not just results, but significant measurable results! I may not get the full credit for the process that works, but if everyone follows suit, it doesn’t matter. It is a win!
