- So far in your career at Sutherland, what are your top three most important accomplishments?
My top accomplishments at Sutherland are all three of my Platinum Value Awards. It might sound a little odd, but I am very proud of the fact that I was even nominated for these awards by my peers, and even more proud of the fact that I was selected. To me, I have done nothing other than try to do my best at my job and always be there to help others. I am very proud that my peers felt I deserve the recognition of these awards for doing nothing other than what I feel is making sure I have done my job to the best of my abilities.
- Who at Sutherland has made the biggest impact on your career and why?
Zackary Johnston has made the biggest impact on my career. He was my trainer when I came to the program. He always has a positive attitude, always tries to motivate everyone, and always tells the truth. He is a master at training others and without the foundation he gave me to build upon when I came to the program, I would have never been able to achieve any of the goals I have set for myself here.
- What would be your advice to someone who wants to work in your position at Sutherland?
Always work hard, have dedication, and have fun. If you don’t enjoy your job, then you will never advance, and you are in the wrong career path. Just doing a job is one thing, but enjoying what you do is completely different. Not only does it make your job something to look forward to doing every day, it helps to keep you motivated to do your best, and it comes through in your work. Others will see that you really enjoy your work in the results you put forward. This makes the difference between being an average employee or a stand out employee no matter what the job is.
- What makes Sutherland stand out from your previous employer(s)?
The biggest stand out is the work-at-home platform. It does offer challenges at times, but it offers more possibilities as well. A challenge is nothing more than an undiscovered possibility. In order to overcome the obstacle, you have to discover how to work around it and resolve it, so it presents as nothing more than an opportunity to learn, instead of something preventing you from completing your task.
- Which country that Sutherland operates in would you most like to visit and why?
I would love to visit any of the countries we operate in. The experience of meeting new people, learning new cultures, and seeing how other people interact at work would be extremely beneficial to anyone in a customer service based field of work. Knowing more about different parts of the world can help you to understand the differences when you are helping customers, clients, and potential business partners throughout your career.
- What’s the best advice you’ve ever received at work or in life?
Be honest. Always be honest with yourself and with others. It will always come back around if you are not and cause issues in the end, so just be honest up front and keep from causing grief for yourself and others.
- What are you looking forward to the most in 2017?
Every single day that comes about. I look forward to the future and the possibilities at work and in my personal life. Each day is one step closer to those goals I set for myself and is a mini accomplishment to achieve on my way to each goal I have set. So I look forward to every single day and finding ways to overcome challenges not only for myself, but also helping others to be able to overcome challenges themselves.
- Where do you see yourself in five years?
Running the company…no seriously though, I do see myself advancing forward. I would like to keep moving forward and being able to influence positive change throughout the company, as well as assist in any capacity needed in order to ensure that our company remains successful and continues to grow. We have a great leadership team, wonderful consultants, and I feel honored to be part of this company.
- What do you do outside of work?
I spend time with my family, friends, and my two pets.
- What are your favorite snacks or food to bring to work?
Bacon…need I say more?
- If you could have one superpower, what would it be?
I wouldn’t want any. I don’t want to be a superhero or have any special abilities. I like just being me.
