- How and when did you come to Sutherland?
I came to Sutherland in November 2016. I was recruited by my counterpart Jeff Merkel and hired by James Dominguez.
- Who at Sutherland has made the biggest impact on your career and why?
James and Jeff both took a chance on me. My career up until November revolved around PC repair and support, with more of a retail focus on the traditional end user. They provided me an opportunity to grow further in the IT field and pursue my real career interests.
- What would be your advice to someone who wants to work in your position at Sutherland?
It is easy to feel overwhelmed. Focus on what is within your control and do not allow things you cannot control to weigh on you too heavily. Remember, while it is easy to feel you are on an island, there is a huge IT support structure behind you to fall back on, and many talented individuals you can seek out for support.
- Which country that Sutherland operates in would you most like to visit and why?
That’s a tough one. I would have to call it a tie between Jamaica for the Caribbean tropical vacation opportunity, and Egypt because I’m a huge history buff and would have almost too much to see and do while there.
- What’s the best advice you’ve ever received at work or in life?
“Nothing great is easy to achieve. The struggle is what makes a story worth telling.”
- What do you do outside of work?
I always have a project of my own, like working on my Jeep, yard, house, personal PC, etc. I enjoy camping, catching a live show, kayaking, mountain biking, off-roading, hiking, and of course video games when I get a chance.
- What three words best describe you?
The three words that best describe me are quirky, charismatic, and outgoing.
- What are your favorite snacks or food to bring to work?
My favorite snacks to bring to work are Mountain Dew, Jolly Ranchers, and Mambas.
