- What gets you up in the morning? No, not your dog or alarm….but what really drives you to get up and give your best each day?
I enjoy working. I take pride in what I do and I’m dedicated to doing the best job possible to help myself and the program succeed. Everyone has a duty to support themselves, their family, and their community, so that drives me to be a faithful steward of what has been given to me.
- Tell us something about Sutherland or your role specifically that others may not know.
I am a jack-of-all-trades in my department. My role as Workforce Management Analyst primarily involves scheduling and staffing related tasks, but I also assist with reporting, operations, and am responsible for overseeing QA for my program. I’m usually the first person people come to with computer issues, questions about Sutherland policies, or just general life questions. I love helping people and am always willing to go the extra mile to make sure people have the tools to succeed.
- What would be your advice to someone who wants to work in your position at Sutherland?
Be dedicated, flexible, immensely reliable, and able to work with all personality types. I’ve worked days, nights, weekends, and many holidays. You do what it takes to make sure the work is done correctly and with integrity.
- What’s the best advice you’ve ever received at work or in life?
“Integrity is doing the right thing when no one is looking.” Do your best work no matter who is around. If you work hard when you’re by yourself or with your team, you will see positive results and garner the proper acknowledgement for your work in due time.
- What do you do outside of work?
I spend time with my wife (just married in 2016) and our cat, Gandalf. I love to visit farmer’s markets, cook classic and new recipes, watch baseball, and discover all the great local cafes and small businesses in the Syracuse area. My wife and I are huge proponents of small businesses and try to support our friends as much as we can. I also welcome all challengers in trivia and Jeopardy.
- What are your favorite snacks or food to bring to work?
My favorite snacks to bring to work are coffee or tea, Extra Toasty Cheez-Its, and a large bottle of water with lemon.
