  1. What made you choose Sutherland as the place to launch your career?

I was looking for a job in Rochester since I am currently finishing up an MBA in Brand Management at the University of Rochester. I asked a few friends whose career paths I admired and it turned out that 3 of them currently work for Sutherland. They all told me such amazing things about the company that I felt like this was the place for me.

  1. Who is the one person in your life that you couldn’t wait to share the news with?

I couldn’t wait to tell my parents. They have been incredibly supportive throughout my life; they’ve been there in good times and bad. They have done so much for me and I couldn’t wait to tell them about this incredible opportunity.

  1. What do you like most about your new title?

Wow, there are so many great things that I love about being a Social Media Strategist at Sutherland. I guess I’d have to say the thing I enjoy the most is how it allows me the opportunity to really steer our Social Media strategy. There are so many exciting initiative I can’t wait to launch and both my Senior Manager Stacy Bliek and my Director Lindsay Jurisch have been amazing in their support and encouraging me to try new things.

  1. How will you help to grow and create change within Sutherland?

My new role will help me implement new Social Media initiatives that will benefit both the company and its employees. As such, I believe my colleagues who I really got to know during training will benefit and I hope they will enjoy the new programs I help launch.

  1. If you could be Batman or Robin, which one would you be and why?

Well Batman of course; I’d hope most people would prefer to be in a leadership role rather than play the sidekick. That being said, as much as I love Batman as a character, I wouldn’t want to model myself after him as he is a bit morose. I’d prefer to emulate someone like Spiderman; he’s been through a great deal of adversity but he does his best to keep his sense of humor. I think that is a valuable lesson and I feel as if that is a more akin to my personality.

  1. What’s a piece of advice you’d like to offer to New Hires that could help them grow within Sutherland?

Sutherland really provides its employees with amazing opportunities for growth. We offer classes to help develop people’s inherent skills and learn new ones. People here really want to see each other succeed; training and subsequently retaining talented employees is in the best interest of the company. Take advantage of these opportunities as they become available. Be patient with yourself and the organization and amazing things can happen!
