- What were you doing before you began working at Sutherland?
I worked in security for 13 years and then took a buyout. My time had come to an end, and I wanted to explore other options. I then got a job as a heavy equipment operator for a few years. It was interesting since I had never driven anything bigger than a 4×4 truck.
- What made you want to work at Sutherland?
Honestly, I have never tried anything like this before. I love working with the public, helping others, and ensuring customers get the best service. So here I am!
- What is your favorite thing about working at Sutherland?
Honestly, my favorite thing about working at Sutherland is the customers! I enjoy talking with others and learning. Any time a customer voices or chats his success, I am smiling! I also believe in a positive work environment and acknowledgment of a job well done, and Sutherland offers both!
- How is your life better since you began working at Sutherland?
I have a routine, structure, and experience. Life for me today is all about balance. Now I have health, family, work, and a social life. I am content!
- How has working at Sutherland affected your future or the future of your family?
Working at Sutherland has made my life more secure. I have a daughter and I’m a single parent, so you can imagine all that goes with that. Yet since coming aboard here, my life is balanced, and my family is happy and healthy.
- What career plans do you have for your future?
Since starting here at Sutherland, my career plans have changed a lot. They went from going back to school to learn a different trade, to working here and moving up the ladder in different departments, and experiencing the different roles here at Sutherland.
- Where do you see yourself in five years?
For me, I tend to not look too far into the future. Sometimes staying in the moment is what gets me through life’s ups and downs. Honestly, I see myself continuing to grow and learn, and maybe, just maybe, Sutherland will be in that picture! Only God knows.
- If you could stock a vending machine with anything, what would you stock it with and why?
Red Bull…You can never go wrong with a Red Bull and everyone would be awake during their shift.
- What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
Baseball, hiking and anything that entails fun and laughter. Life is meant to be lived, and not to just exist.
- Do you have a funny nickname? If so, what is it?
Yes I do…Beaner!

She has a diverse background in marketing and has worked with Welch Allyn Inc. and the New York Family Business Center. She is a recent graduate of Le Moyne College where she majored in Business Marketing and minored in Philosophy and Art Administration. During her time at Le Moyne, she was a sprinter and high jumper for the NCAA track and field team. Since then, she has been running in 5k races around the Central NY area. When not running, she dabbles in photography, painting, and illustrating. She also enjoys baking and cooking and uses her coworkers as taste testers.
